Hang joined Russin & Vecchi in 2004 after 7 years practicing in a Singaporean law firm. Her core areas of practice are banking, capital market, real estate, corporate, M&A, and insurance. She has represented both sellers and buyers in acquisition of strategic shareholdings by foreign investors in large state-owned enterprises. She has acted for both the investor and for the target company. Hang has been involved in many insurance transactions and is well known for her insurance industry experience.

Hang is known by ISDA and by banks as having particular experience in derivative capital transactions.

  • Acted for Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in all Vietnam-related matters in RBS’s take-over of ABN-AMRO in 2008 and the subsequent spin-out of the ABN-AMRO business to ANZ in 2009 (the 2009 spin-out was awarded Asian Counsel Magazine’s Deal of the Year, 2009);
  • Acted for Post – Telecommunications Joint Stock Corporation in its sale of 37.2% of shares to Dongbu Insurance Co Ltd;
  • Acted for Global Insurance Corporation (Công ty Bảo hiểm Toàn Cầu) in its issue of a 25% strategic stake to Ergo International AG from Germany;
  • Acted for the Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation (VinaRe) and Bao Minh Insurance Joint Stock Corporation — two large insurance companies with substantial state shareholdings — in their sale of a strategic stake to foreign strategic investors (Swiss Re in the case of VinaRe and AXA in the case of Bao Minh);
  • Assisted TNT Express to acquire equity interest from the Foreign Trade Freight Forwarding and Warehousing Joint Stock Company, to become the sole owner of TNT Express Worldwide (Vietnam) Co Ltd);
  • Assisted Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance to purchase a 20% stake to become a strategic shareholder in Petrolimex Insurance Joint Stock Corporation.
  • Provide regulatory advice to international corporations, including Western Union, Thales Optronics SA, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, UBS AG, Barclays, Bank of Singapore;
