Thu is an alumna of HCMC University of Law’s Moot Community. Her team was the champion of HCMC University in the Law Moot Tryout Competition, the first runner-up of FDI Moot Court Vietnam National Rounds, and she represented Vietnam in FDI Moot Asia-Pacific Regional Rounds in Seoul, Korea.

In 2018, she received a scholarship from the American Chamber of Commerce in HCMC. Thu has 3 years of experience working as a freelance translator/interpreter.

Thu joined Russin & Vecchi in 2019, first as an intern, and now as an associate. She is involved in various issues that relate to corporate activities. She has a strong research background and has experience working with Government authorities.

  • Advised on market access conditions applicable to foreign investors of various enterprises;
  • Advised the subsidiary of a Japanese corporation on taxation and criminal liability involving alleged violation of tax rules;
  • Served on Due Diligence team to carry out legal investigations on enterprises in various industries (eg, healthcare, laboratory, education, social media, footwear manufacturer, ink and electronics device manufacturer, etc.);
  • Advised a multinational enterprise to implement its employee stock ownership plan in Vietnam;
  • Advised a major international association on the status of a new urban area project in Binh Duong Province;
  • Represented an international beverage company to cooperate with Vietnamese police investigating a case of employee embezzlement;
  • Prepared non-disclosure, non-compete agreement for an international food company;
  • Filings with various governmental bodies on family matters that involve foreigners;
  • Preparation and filing of numerous application documents to obtain certificates/licenses for enterprise formation, restructuring and operation;
  • Research and write memo on: the process to enact the Law on Medical Treatment and Examination, the application of the Competition Law during its transitional period, application of the Commercial Law in structuring an advertising campaign, etc.
